A friend brought this back from Wisconsin for me as a thank you for watching his dog. He had never tried it but heard it was good. This is a scotch ale - that is not overpowering, sort of like a Robert the Bruce for beginners. It has a nice malty flavor, but isn't overly strong. It finishes a little crisper than most scotch ales, which might be due to the atypical abv, slightly lower than normal for a scotch ale. I was pleasantly surprised. Plus the label is cute.
