South Dakota Beer!

This is a crow peak cream ale brewed with locally sourced honey. It's smooth and has a nice malty taste. I don't taste a lot of hops, but it tastes balanced, so there must be some! Overall, it's pretty good. Not quite as spicy or flavorful as Anderson Valley's summer or winter solstice, but definitely has enough flavor to be interesting.

Firehouse Brewing - Rapid City

Right to left:
Wilderness wheat - unfiltered, a little tart, benefits from being the first vacation beer.
Player to be named later - malty, caramel, bitter finish.
Buffalo Bitter - definitely bitter, could use a little more hops to make a more balanced taste profile.
Swarthy Beaver - its like a bitter on steroids, sort of. A funny taste works its way in, but I can't quite describe it.
Chukker ale - our server described it as "like a bud light," which does not do it justice. It's more like an English mild. I liked it, perhaps the best of the group.
Smoke jumper stout - not much of a nose, a little bitter chocolate taste. Pretty good.
