About six years ago, I started collecting labels and/or caps from ales and lagers that I sampled during my travels. When I go to a new city, I try to visit the local microbreweries and, if possible, take a tour. When people come to visit, they bring new beer for me to try. I am not a home brewer, just a consumer. These are my observations about the ales and lagers that I have sampled.

If you believe they put a man on the moon
Another new beer from New Glarus. I'm pretty much a fan of New Glarus and always willing to try their beer. The moon man is billed as a north coast pale ale, but it doesn't quite taste like a typical pale ale to me. I think it could be a little more hoppy, but maybe that's me. Overall, I like it and I've had more since, but it's not my favorite New Glarus, nor is it my favorite pale ale.
I started experimenting with microbrews about ten years ago. Before that, I thought that staying away from the macrobrews meant that I appreciated beer. I was wrong. I started trying stouts before moving on to doppelbocks, wheat ales, witbiers, Belgian tripels, farmhouse ales and sour ales. I am not much of an IPA fan, but my appreciation of hops is maturing. I am not an expert, I just know what I like, or, more accurately, what I don't like. I hope you find this informative, but I would settle for entertaining.
