About six years ago, I started collecting labels and/or caps from ales and lagers that I sampled during my travels. When I go to a new city, I try to visit the local microbreweries and, if possible, take a tour. When people come to visit, they bring new beer for me to try. I am not a home brewer, just a consumer. These are my observations about the ales and lagers that I have sampled.

- I started experimenting with microbrews about ten years ago. Before that, I thought that staying away from the macrobrews meant that I appreciated beer. I was wrong. I started trying stouts before moving on to doppelbocks, wheat ales, witbiers, Belgian tripels, farmhouse ales and sour ales. I am not much of an IPA fan, but my appreciation of hops is maturing. I am not an expert, I just know what I like, or, more accurately, what I don't like. I hope you find this informative, but I would settle for entertaining.

Where can Arcadia and redwood - rapunzel be purchased?
ReplyDeleteWe had the Arcadia and Redwood Rapunzel collaboration at a place in Chicago called Sheffield's - it's south of Addison and on Sheffield (we walked there after the Cubs game). This was at the end of the Chicago craft brew festival, so I'm not sure they have it any more, but they always have good stuff on tap! Thanks for reading!
